Lessee a lot could be done by the private sector... but it never happens....

Get real the idea that charity is overflowing in our country is BS. Do a few billionaires donate to causes? yes but it isnt enough! Why is it so hard to accept that some social programs are an investment?!

Every kid we pay to educate is likely one less criminal... Look I am not a "bleeding heart liberal" but pure economics says the more unproductive people you have the less productive your economy..... So subsidizing people to become productive makes sense

I really tire of this us versus them attitude... I am on the left and have my reasoned opinions... You are on the right and have yours. I honestly doubt there is a moral supremacy in either of our positions... lets disagree, but view eachother as sentient beings that have a right to an opinion.... but lets not resort to sillyness such as "those who vote democratic want a handout, or those that vote republican are just after a tax break" that insults everyone...

look, all I am saying is most of us want our nation to succeed...debate over how this is to be is essential...accept those that disagree with you, and let the majority decide.... Our county's basic tenet is dissent is allowed...

to call those that protest "unamerican" is to misunderstand what america is...
