I have never faulted the U.N. for its humanitarian work, although it's a bit disturbing to follow the cash flow in that area too. But that's another story.
And that's not the main point here.
The U.N. is a mass of corruption which has failed in nearly every attempt to bring peace to areas of conflict, never mind democracy.
I have been posting less than half the stuff I find on this subject.
IMO the flaws in the U.N. go clear down to the bone, and are reflected in nations like Libya chairing Human Rights committees, and Russia and China, two of the permanent members of the Security Council, between them having a history of deliberately annihilating almost a hundred million of their own inhabitants.
If the Left does nothing else in this controversy, it has got to try and pull itself away from its nearly-religious infatuation with the United Nations, and start thinking along other lines.
Here's something on the subject of U.N. alternatives from Canada.
