By your logic, America is rotten to the core for being built upon slavery. I don't buy it. Yes Germany under the Nazis had it faults, but it was still Germany and its attributes far outweighed them. Imagine what Europe would be like today, had its very heart not been reduced to rubble and millions of its finest killed. Germany didn't want world domination, but they did want to be a major player on the world's stage. Being Europe's largest and wealthiest ethnic group, who can blame them? The Zeitgeist of the 1930s and 40s in Germany was much the same as it was in America during the 19th century. Like America's Manifest Destiny, Germany's "Drang nach Osten" wasn't a Nazi invention, but was a part of the German psyche dating back to the Middle Ages. They were a proud and noble people wanting to expand outward and claim their place in the sun. To say that every nation could have an empire, but not Germany is insane. At least the Germans, unlike the English and French, were willing to fight nations of equal status, not undeveloped and backward peoples, for new lands.
To experience what I find appealing from that period, watch "Triumph of the Will". The sense of unity, community, kinship, and purpose are intoxicating. Never before have a people been united with such pride in themselves and their shared destiny. A nation, in the truest sense of the word, galvanized into a single entity with a uniform purpose. It's the stuff from which dreams and legends are made. Hitler may have nurtured and focused this power, but he didn't create it. What he did do was pervert and abuse it to the point of self destruction. His true crime was taking the spirit and heart of Europe and extinguishing it, thus leading to the sorry state of affairs in Europe today.
As for your "Nazis" living in Idaho, you're right, they are nothing but goons. They and their fellow klansmen and skinheads are nothing but worthless parasites. They can't hold down a job, have no education, and have no pride whatsoever in themselves. Look at one of them, then look at someone like Albert Speer or Erwin Rommel, there's no comparison. If they had half the pride they claim, they'd get an education and become an asset to their community instead of a dead weight. They truly disgust me and I have no time for them.
