I've been hearing from too many people on the Net who think stability and lack of conflict is a reasonable trade-off for freedom, especially if you throw in cradle-to-grave goodies. I'm not one of them.

Totalitarianism, economic or political, appeals to many who hate the natural chaos of freedom.
