The Soviets had relocated their heavy defense industry to the east, and were cranking out what they needed.

And, Lend-Lease was a big, big help to them. What is forgotten is that every Lend-Lease tank, airplane, truck, whatever, DIDN'T have an American in it.

That was nice.
