Interesting, I actually crawled through that sub when I lived in Bremerhaven for a few months. Here's the website It is very small. Hardly something to compare to our modern subs. As far as advanced weapons go, I don't think it could have turned the tide in the war. German wolfpacks were effective, but they used radio a lot to communicate. Because they thought their Enigma machine was uncrackable, the Germans relied on it heavily. The allies were reading everything that was broadcast. No matter how good the XXI was, it couldn't be very effective if the Allies knew where it was going to pop up due to broadcasting its coordinates across enigma.

A more important weaponthe Germans fielded at the end of the war was the ME262. The allied fighters couldn't touch 'em. Ironically, Hitler delayed the project because he wanted a bomber not a fighter. By the time they started fielding them the Luftwaffe was very short of pilots and fuel.
