Once upon a time, not long ago, one of us mentioned that money can buy elections, and that the US may be headed into an oligarchy, where whoever spent the most would win. And GWB was collecting a lot of money.

The other one of us said that just maybe it was the program, the beliefs, the policies of of one candidate or the other which were attractive, no matter what other influences might be.

And at that time one of us was predicting a GWB landslide.
