(giving you the benefit of the doubt) or your cussed need to riposte my one-line response.
In case it is your comprehension, rather than your cussedness, I will break it down for you:
You said: "Spending several months in a destroyer offshore hardly counts as a "tour of duty" in Vietnam."
I said: "You just insulted pretty much a whole Navy-full of Viet Nam Vets".
What it meant: Most of those in the Navy, and serving in Viet Nam, had experiences similar to that which you described in your statement. That is, they were stationed on ships, and were not often, if ever, fired on by the enemy. My use of the phrase "pretty much" indicates that I did not include the entire Navy in my description. I deliberately used that phrase because I am well aware that some Naval personnel did perform missions that put them directly in harm's way. [I notice that in your attempt to school me (or whatever that was), you left out the category of riverine warfare. Was that intentional?]
The only difference of opinion we had was whether Naval personnel who served on ships feel they performed a Viet Nam tour of duty, which you deny. In short, people who earned one of these, should pe pissed off at what a jackass you are.

The problem here is either your reading comprehension...

- "Then there's the media, which has dedicated itself to a Kerry victory." should be "Then there's the media, which have dedicated themselves to a Kerry victory."
