you have basically helped save my reputation here with this right-on explanation.
However, it's very important to me, that it is clearly understood that I am not claiming 'worse case scenario', in that 'my catastrophe is worse than all others'. For example, you probably know that Turkey still refuses any responsibility for the Armenian genocide. In fact, I understand that the Turkish authorities have often persecuted people who have tried to publicize this fact. So, since I have learned this, I have followed a simple approach. If I meet a Turkish person whom I then get to know rather better, I soon enough put the Armenian issue to them. If they are ignorant of the issue, fair enough, I let the matter rest. But if they actively protest and get offended, then I turn heel and terminate the acquaintance. If I'm in a good mood, I'll avoid the parting remarks.
What I am on here about is the unique aspects and the historical significance of the Holocaust, which as you have explained very clearly should be relevant and alive to every living human being. For me, although I am very angry, I am also very proud of the tough resilience of my surviving family (escaping through electrified fences, hiding in the woods, etc.). I definitely don't feel like a victim. Rather, I am a close and personal witness of a unique phenomenon.
The problem however for any common-sense impartial observer, is the bottom-line fact that when you're tortured and dead, it didn't matter whether Hitler, Stalin, or the local psycho across the road was responsible. That is obviously true - and yet, for the remaining survivors - the rest of us there are the deeper and significant issues.
It is very imporant that people here know that everyone I know who agrees with this last previous sentence, is either a political moderate, or an outright conservative. They are not Tom Brosz's 'Marxist apologists' - and in many cases they are also not even Jewish.

- Did you even read the article?
- Ease up on the gas before you blow a gasket, Daniel
- Oh come on ..
- The point is to condemn all those who commit genocide
- of course, Larry - that's exactly what I've been saying all along. The Nazis are just the standard bearers for genocide, but not the only ones. I have said this over and over again.
