In fact, my first, 'mental' draft was going to be a mild rebuke, with thanks for your customary reasonableness. Then, on re-reading your post, I became incensed at the idea that I believed 'my catasrophe was worse than all others'. And I decided to give you a serve of what I"ve been dishing out lately to others as well. Probably a wrong decision. But notice I'm not apologizing directly (only indirectly), as I think you made a very stupid - although common - conclusion about people who emphasize the Holocaust. Remember what I wrote about the Cambodian and Armenian genocides. Many people understand that if we forget the Holocaust and its unique significance, then Cambodias, Armenias, Rwandas and more, will just keep happening over and again ..

You are normally a fair and reasonable person and I should have rather dealt with your misinterpretation on a civil basis, especially since that is a common misconception made by many people regarding the attitude of Jews towards the Holocaust. In fact, many people express that in far more insensitive terms than you did.
