Teaching the kids

Noam Chomsky has flown pretty damn close to the flame of defending Pol Pot. But it doesn't really matter even if the Marxist professor is the nicest person in the university, a person who sincerely believes that true Marxism will save the world, and that Stalin was never a "real" Marxist. (Most modern Marxists believe this.)

It is the collectivist philosophy itself that is the source of the damage, a fact that is hard to get across to a lot of people, and that you could never get a Marxist to admit to in a million years.

Unfortunately, it's true. Stalin is not an aberration of Marxism. He is the inevitable result.

Never mind the philosophical reasons for this. Sheer observation should be enough. If, out of all the Marxist nations, only one or two had ended up as poverty-ridden totalitarian nightmares, maybe the Marxists would have a point. But every single nation that has ever set itself up on these principles has ended up the same way. Don't know how many more such "experiments" the world can tolerate.

I don't want collectivist philosophy advocated to students in classrooms. And in one form or another, labeled as Marxism or not, it is being advocated, in almost every place of higher learning.

Note that "advocating" is not the same as "teaching about." A professor can and should teach the history of racism in America. It becomes a different story when he begins teaching kids that blacks are inferior.
