The point is to condemn all those who commit genocide

Yes, the Nazis were the embodiment of evil. Their ideology condemned millions to death (some 11-13 million, depending on your sources). These included some 6 million Jews along with high percentages of Europe's Gypsies, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, and millions of others who dared stand in the way of madmen. Further, they enslaved millions more across Europe.

That doesn't mean the communists who murdered and enslaved tens of millions are any less evil for what they did than the Nazis. If "Never Again" is to mean anything, it has to apply not only to Nazis and Jewish victims, but to the Armenians, the Chinese, the Cambodians, and countless other groups who've been targeted for death by government, including the Sudanese today. One of the more shameful moments of the 1990s was when the "civilized" countries of the world did nothing to stop the murder of an estimated 1 million Rhowandans in a span of just a few months. "Never Again", really?

And just as no sane university would knowingly hire someone who advocated Nazism, why should they hire those who self-identify with others who commited mass murder and genocide?
