Many times I'm faced with balancing competing goods, and in the short run it might seem that one person or another is getting more of my consideration than others. I'm kind of a bottleneck that way, and one benefit of all the new moderators should be more consideration available to spread around. I have to hang on to the faith that in the long run everything will work out for the best for everybody.

Keep in mind that when I go looking for something of value in a person, my purpose is not to deny the bad or valueless. We shouldn't let the partisan thinking of CE slop over into other things; this isn't a propaganda exercize in image polishing. It's just what it is, an expression of my faith that few people are really hopeless. Sometimes you have to dig deeper with some people than with others. I hate to toss out the baby with the bathwater.

I recall our email conversation from a year ago. That was then, this is now. I was giving advice to ease your entry into the HabitableZone, and now you're here. You've passed beyond that advice, and you just go on making your own way in the Zone. The training wheels came off a long time ago.
