I love Jesuits (well, not literally, you know what I mean). I wanted to be one at one point in my life.
Lots of great scientists were also Jesuits, like the astronomer Father Secchi. Of course when they towed the party line, they weren't so great. Like the one who tried to argue against Galileo in a book that was so poor in its science that Galileo said something to the effect that it would have been better for the Chruch never to have been written.
