Anti-Americanism Advanced Lesson

I tried to resist this one. Really, I did.

You act nonplussed at how the leftist agenda came into being and how it spread and how it became the de facto correct view for all students from 1950 onward?

Here let me sum up in a simple timeline:

1945 Close of WWII and previous global deployment creates new public awareness of other folks suffering. A sense of multiculturalism and comradery with folks is established in a major way for the first time. (In WWI the US didn't have nearly the multicultural encounters servicemen experienced in WWII)

1947-1949 UN hype and hoopla are everywhere. Educated postwar thought declared nationalism a threat to global peace. This tenet became the absolute centerpiece of modern left political viewpoints. As planning and construction continued, a whole generation of college graduates from 1947-1953 were brought up on the concept of internationalism as a road to civilized behavior and enlightenment.

1950-1953 Korean War. This war with an unresolved ending set the tone for internal defeatism and reinforced the concept that the US Army was incapable of winning wars in the atomic age.

1954-1958 The 'beat' generation, set up shop. Jazz, early drugs & foreign sports cars without big fins. The byproduct of internationalist glorification they turn 'anti-social' and glorify 'non-conformity' the older siblings of the hippie, drug & free love generation - they pave the way with more tenets that become accepted into the modern lexicon:

A) Premarital sex is a-ok.
B) Pacifism is superior to conflict
C) The previous generations morals & goals are obsolete.

The last one (C) is repeated by every generation, but this one had a new 'twist' in that it added the goals aspect. In the twenties the sexual revolution in the back of automobiles was a revolution - but the youths involved still shared the same goals: success & marriage.

The beat generation was strongly influenced by Europe with its large homosexual population. 'Dropping out' of the mainstream was a new goal. The various 'gay' enclaves in San Francisco, Greenwich Village in New York were established and glorified as new 'cultural centers of creativity' in opposition to the staid clapboard house filled cities found all over the US.

Modern art, coming out of Europe at the turn of the century, now came of age. The Museum of Modern Art was established after the war and set the cultural message: Everything that came before is now obsolete. The new style is abstract, vague and ever so much more sophisticated in its simplicity or defiance of accepted art.

1956-1958 Civil rights makes strides due to the multiculturalism experienced by GIS during WWII. Refugees of that and the Korean conflict bring new races to US shores and old prejudices were downgraded to accomodate new ones.

1959-1964 Kennedy assassination further alienates masses from 'nationalism' as a solution. It capped the Korean conflict as a reinforcement for feelings of national impotence. Futurists, space glorification and futurism fades fast as optimism dies out. The beat generation are now the teachers in the colleges and the leaders of the 'cultural' venues in America - and are leading a new generation (the pre-baby boomers) into a cynical, internationalist stance that glorifies pacifism, sexual experimentation and the anti-corporate movement. (I already made a post about the birth during this period of anti-corporatism and Vance Packard etcetera)

1965-1972 The hippie, free-love, drug era is in full swing. It is now taught that America's presence in Vietnam is an anathema to an enlightened outlook. Think tanks spring up that now take an internationalist viewpoint and work with multi-nationals to increase their profits. 'US imperialism' is for the first time, in a major fashion, introduced into college courses. A cry that first originated in France during the post-war reconstruction period as America Britain & Russia shared the power spotlight. Anti-Americanism makes victory in Vietnam impossible as political leaders wage an increasingly defensive and ineffective war. LBJ implodes in much the same way as Truman imploded because of Korea.

1972-1980 By this time several generations of students had been weaned on the UN as a salvation, multiculturalism as a goal, nationalism as a remnant of imperialist 19th century barbarism. TV bigger than ever, numbs the masses. numbsIslam, Opec, the Middle East are for the first time since the late 50s brought again, in a major way, in the public mind. Suddenly Japanese technology becomes a fetish, over European technology which was a fetish for the beat generation and the hippies.

1980-1988 Reagan brings back nationalism again in a BIG way, removes the dirty word it had become and reforms some of the beat & hippie generation, while leading America back from the abyss. At th same time he drives those who did not reform ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. He is treated in much the same way Bush is now - a pariah, an idiot, a warlike fiend set upon world destruction. Naturally he represented the antithesis of the euro-internationalist, homosexual-leaning, modern-art loving, pacifist driving a Japanese econo-box who was teaching humanities at the local high school. His views we're almost diametrically opposed to those views and the left hated him for it. Naturally his viewpoint, unabashed capitalism, defeated communism.

1989-1992 Bush inherits the job. Germany reunifies and USSR falls apart. Bush botches the public aggrandizement of these things and plays it prudent. France, Germany and Europe now in a battle for dollars. Unification of currency floats the worst off of the nations at the expense of Germany. Germany moves socialist in a HUGE way because of millions of cradle-grave DDR folks who were really no longer German. Sudden awareness hits think-tanks and analysts: Reunification came at least 20 years too late! Germany was better off divided.

1992-2006 Most of Europe, asides from the UK, are our allies in name only as socialists, greens and communists disparage America and work actively against US interests around the world. Wage a PR battle for young minds, all over the world, who don't remember Reagan or what came before either in Europe or America. This generation has no drive or goals other than self-satisfaction. A poor mans flower-generation where drugs are replaced by electronic pacification and pharmaceuticals. 9-11 changes nothing. Europe engaged in a dictator-lovefest, genocide free-for-all in the 3rd world, while US combats terrorists - unfortunately these terrorists are often our 'allies' business partners.

2006 Tide turns thanks to endless media hype and far too many, morally inert masses, euros have PR victory in US, Bush caves in and takes his dad's advice - sells out to European interests and stops rocking the boat.

And that is how we got to where we are. And how today's technocentric, anti-American leftism has become the de facto correct mindset in our colleges, high schools and even elementary schools.

Yeah, I know. Why bother? Just 1 person - and that makes the effort worthwhile.
