The biggest flaw in American armchair strategic analysis is the modern day inability to handle the concept of sacrifices for achieved gains. Casualties are just a part of a larger economic equation.
The casualties are doubtless comforted by the fact that we can put an economic value on their suffering.

And as the troops come home, all those leftists can "feel good" about something that really only harms others.
Which is what being a leftist is all about - being a complete idiot.
All those neocons can feel good about something that only harms others, that is, sending other people to get shot at and blown up. Not to mention all the people who were already there who got shot at and blown up. Which is why I suggested the big armchair quarterback get his butt out on the field.
I will admit to idiocy, though. I never believed, until it was too late, that the man who took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States would seek so actively to undermine it, and that that same man, who holds the title of Commander in Chief, would plunge the people he commands so recklessly into war. Never again.
