The total energy that hits the Earth from the Sun every second is about 1.74 x 10^17 J. This is, by my calculations if I've figured out the conversion right, about 160 times the total wattage generated by every operating nuclear reactor on the planet, going full out.
The total power consumed by humanity is about 12 to 20 *10^12 Watts (depending on your source)- lets say its tens of terawatts, this means its on the order of 10^4 or 10^5 less than what the sun delivers.
Again, Johannes will miss this point and will keep ranting on this until he dies... MAYBE he will convince a few people that his lies are true- and further the ignorant fear of nuclear power, thus condemning us to fossil fuels and all that entails... Stupid people DO cause real harm to humanity.

- A pleasant reply, in which I do not use the word MORON (aside from the title)

- If the atmospheric density has decreased there is a very easy way to measure it.
- You did not address my points why should we take you seriously?, (n/t)
- I'm skeptical...
- re: A pleasant reply,
- Nuclear reactors don't release radioactive material in normal operation.

- Actually, it's a bit unusual.
