I have to admit it seems chaotic
That table of snowfall has an obvious pattern: 2-6 years of average snowfall, then WHUMP, a year or two of double or triple the average, then another 2-6 years of normalcy. You must be on the leeward side of the mountains, so maybe it has as much to do with the wind direction as over here in southern Ontario. The temperatures could be as normal as ever, but if the wind isn't going in the right direction then the precip goes somewhere else.
