Market economics vs minimum wage reality
Market economics shows that raising the minimum wage will mean fewer jobs for low wage workers. What is not taken into account in this model is that almost no low wage workers anywhere are paid the current minimum wage.
Virtually no one working in America makes less than $8/hour. If they do they are likely in a very high turnover job anyway. Raising the minimum wage is a non-issue until it reaches the threshhold of what 99% of low wage workers are making to begin with.
