I'm so old.....
Tony — (archived)

I even remember Techie's real name.
I remember there were two Larry on MSNBC so Larry added a J. (The other was I recall much less of a grump).
I remember when there was just a Science board there, but Space was the main topic so they created a space for the Space nuts. The Science board went rapidly downhill thereafter, since most of the good posters moved.

Was never a frequent poster there, but an avid reader. Hung around till they closed the boards after 9/11. Was too frequently disgusted by the early HZ since the H part didnt often apply to anyone coming in from the left.
(I think at one point I referred to it as a right wing nut job site)
I came here after one particular incident which doesnt bear repeating. After reading some of the better thinkers on here, like MA, Fox, DA Leffler, TB (back when he still thunk ;-) ) I decided to stay.

The mood has certainly shifted over the years, probably too far. Some of those right wing nut jobs could actually hold an argument if they tried to get past the knee jerk. If we as a whole weren't so partisan it would be a tad more Habitable. The best threads in recent years have come out in Community and perversely, Flame.

End ramble......
