Why the rant?
The rant is a lot less about Cuba than it is about those (like the writer of the article and her organization) who are pushing serfdom on me as the "wave of the future." Believe me, Cuba isn't the only example I've seen over the years of how these people think we ought to live. I saw a lot of this kind of thinking during the 70s energy "crisis," and with the same "communitarian" motivations. In scarcity, there is power to be had. Look up hydraulic empires.
Frankly, I think if you put it up to a vote, most people would rather build a few new nuclear reactors than push a plow behind an ox.
