Seems you don't understand how dependant we are on others
If you're the only survivor, every human dependant thing will be out of reach either because there's nobody to attend them or because you wouldn't know what to do first or because you wouldn't be authorized to access them.
You might get food and get some distance, but that wouldn't last and we need others anyway.
Why care about nuclear facilities? There's nobody to secure them from!
