I agree, cities a most beautiful when lit up, but turning off a few lights during a short time period for a cause isn’t a sign of collapsing city.
Hopefully, a lot of grown-ups and children who aren’t as responsible and conscious about the use of energy as you and most of us here are will regain an awareness to conserve what energy they use.
Goodness knows, many could use the exercise.
