Here's your challenge if you so choose to accept it...

...invent a scope that filters for sunlight from our sun and all various electric light sources. You will be able to use such a telescope anytime - night or day. You will see far more than you ever dreamed possible.

I look at the sky...and it is a solid white sea of stars. I can pick out each one based upon its unique wavelength and component light frequencies. All light is not equal. Each star's "starlight" has unique properties.

You take the time to measure the wavelength emitted by popular forms of electric light and develop a filter for them and you will already be halfway there and can use it at night time in the busiest city.

The various wavelength of light that come from our sun would be the second task and a magnitude more difficult to filter effectively - but by no means impossible. Find some shared common denominator to those waves and filter for that component.

Then you can get richer than Midas selling and retrofitting telescopes with "Magnificent Day Vision!" and which are "Immune to electric light trespass!" - all your problems will be solved.

Think outside the box and find solutions to problems that don't involve regulating the other guy. As much as the project might cost, it would probably be far less than the cost of regulating, retrofitting and trying to shut down emerging new electric light sources - a task which never would end. What's more it would create a whole new breed of scope that amateurs could enjoy and see far more than they ever could anywhere near a city.

Innovative solutions. That's the ticket.

Then I wont be the only one who can see a sky full of stars during the daytime.
