I stand by what I said. They would have to apply everything they would have learned towards their new destination. Albeit, they would have some knowledge of their new destination upon arrival. Again, it wouldn't be that much different as the French crossing the glacial lines nor the Norse, etc., except that they would know that the place that they were going to would be a habitable one.
