Harry was born on the multigenerational Ship traveling to another solar system, he didn't leave any family behind, you can't even assume that his parents were dead at the time of the coup.
What is for certain was Harry had the will and he found a way.
In order to get anything done one must have two things: Power and the will to use it.
There was no eminent threat to Earth it was a colonization effort.
Even if Earth had it's problems it still seemed like a paradise to Harry in comparison to his projected lifetime onboard the ship.
I am surprised that so many think it's probably impossible to disrupt the mission.
Since when has logic gotten in the way of people who disaggree and want to have their way?
Where there is a will there is a way. 2 + 2 = 4
The point I am making is don't discount the human factor, all may not go as planned, there are many scenarios possible.
Failure is an option.
