"Our culture contains a great deal of historical baggage. Baggage that would serve no useful purpose for people hoping to setup a new society and civilization. My idea is to raise the first generation in isolation from the rest of the world. Create an entirely new set of values and cultural ideals. Once they have come of age and have been educated and trained, they would be placed aboard the ship to begin their voyage to a new home.
Hopefully though, a way of placing the colonists into stasis will be developed. The ships can be much smaller and faster if that happens. A speed of .2c should be more than capable of getting a sleeper ship to any star system in a 20 ly radius in around 100 years or less."
Without an emoticon I can't tell if you are joking.
Yeah I would call:
"raising the first generation in isolation from the rest of the world."
