Wouldn't it be great, Jody,
if the billions of people around
the world "loved their enemies",
"turned the other cheek"
as Jesus commanded, instead
of resorting to an eye-for-an-eye
violence and retaliation,
I feel violence and bloodshed
around the world would drop dramatically.
I know Mohammed never commanded
his followers to love their enemies an
turn the other cheek [his faith was spread by sword].
Even Buddha ignored principles of love; and instead
focused on esoteric religious ideas that ignore
humans propensity for hostility, hatred, violence,
and bloodshed.
Gandhi came close to providing an answer to
such depressing human traits, but a 1/2 billion Hindus
ignore or even despise his principles.
Of course, I quoted Jesus' commandments
about loving your enemies, etc.
He also made promises, but
there's no need to post them here.
