How it's possible:
This is a religious text. It doesn't have to be possible. It doesn't have to make sense. It just is. The purpose of putting one's self in the hands of an omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent deity is that that deity is not required to abide by any rules whatsoever.
As the Big Guy said, "I AM who am." If anyone needs to ask why such a deity's creation doesn't adhere to the rules as we know them, that person doesn't understand the nature of deity.
