The root of the word earth or ‘erets “comes from an unused root probably meaning to be firm.â€
Under this explanation photons and everything else in the universe are constructed out of something that has some firmness associated with them.
Where does the frequency of a photon come from?
Surely you are not suggesting that we can measure, feel and see frequencies (of photons) that are constructed out of nothing.
As for the "Michelson-Morley Experiment", it was well conceived and executed but they did not have lasers in those times, perhaps another such experiment conducted with the use of blue or ultraviolet laser as the light source, might reveal something different or at least it might give a more precise negative result.
Regardless whether a medium such as a “ether†(aether) exists or not is not the question, the questions are:
1) What material is the photon constructed out of?
2) Did the material exist before it had a frequency?
