re: Thank you ER and Bowser
You both have valid arguments about the areas of theology that you are writing about.
If I respond to your arguments then we will be derailed from the subject matter and the point I wanted to make.
My question was:
How do you interpret the meaning of the following words, taken from the King James Version of the Bible?
“GENESIS 1:1. In the beginning God created the heaven and earth.
1:2. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.â€
Since neither one of you answered that question, I can only assume that you do not consider that part of the Bible as important, alternately you may consider it self evident, or perhaps, not logical.
In my opinion, regardless whether the story is fiction or fact, GENESIS concerns the creation, or the very beginning of the universe, do you agree with that evaluation?
To be more specific, do you consider any significance to the fact that the words “heaven†and “earth†are not capitalized?
As I understand it, in 1:1 “heaven†and “earth†were “created†or came into existence, in 1:2 it says that the “earth†was without form and void.
In other words, “earth†was now in existence, but was without form and was void. How is that possible?
