That question you seem to have just discovered was settled to everyone's satisfaction over a century ago, look up "Michelson-Morley Experiment", "Lorentz-Fitzgerald Contraction" and "The Ether". Not only was your question anticipated, it was answered, many decades before you were born. You are so far off-base you're not even wrong.
It was the incontrovertible proof that there is no SOMETHING that is vibrating, fluctuating, varying or pulsing that led to Special Relativity and the discovery of the photon. And this insight was gained by making accurate measurements of natural phenomena with mechanical apparatus, not by poring over many quaint and curious volumes of forgotten lore.
Johannes, it is no disgrace to be ignorant of science, we all have our limitations; I can't play a musical instrument or speak Ukrainian. But to claim to those who are not ignorant that you are capable of insights they are too dim to comprehend is really annoying.
