re: Theo logical message

I agree that the Bible is a truly remarkable document, but if you mean that it was conjured up by humans, out of ignorance or fear, then I would like to logically debate that concept with you.

You state that:

I've read the Bible several times, cover to cover, and I feel that not being intimidated or coerced by its theological message has helped me appreciate it for the truly remarkable human document it really is.

That is truly a commendable act, far too few people have read the Bible from cover to cover even once.
It seems evident that you have a great appreciation of good writing.

There is one point that I would like to explore with you on the subject of understanding what the Bible teaches. ( no coercion or intimidation intended :-])

How do you interpret the meaning of the following words, taken from the King James Version of the Bible?

“GENESIS 1:1. In the beginning God created the heaven and earth.
1:2. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness wasupon the face of the deep.”

I have my interpretation of it, but I would like to know your interpretation before explaining mine.
