Just LISTEN to yourself!

If having money didn't get you more stuff, people wouldn't be trying so hard to get more. Or trying so hard to keep from giving any up. The whole POINT of having money is it gets you benefits people without it don't have. The catalog of services you mention are precisely the ones that are provided to everyone regardless of income. The ones you would like to see minimized as much as possible and reserved for those who can afford them. Except maybe the military and police. They protect your goods.

I've always paid my own way, I've never collected welfare, but I recognize the debt I owe to society, the Social Security widow's survivor and VA benefits that put food in my belly and clothes on my back and a roof over my head when I was a kid, the GI Bill and VA that helped pay for my education and my comfortable suburban middle class existence, even the fancy overseas and Silicon Valley jobs working on government contracts that allowed me to move effortlessly into yuppiedom. Just because I've never been on food stamps doesn't mean I can take full credit for my success and sneer at those who didn't get the breaks I got. I acknowledge I owe a debt, and I'm willing to pay my share back.

The more money you have, the easier it is to get even more. "Redistributing the wealth, looting the rich"... oh you're breaking my heart.
