Point by point.

The "proper purpose of taxation" and its "functions proper to governmkent" are not for you to decide. That is to be determined politically, not by what is convenient for any one class or group.

The wealthy get every public benefit from taxes, primarily the infrastructure, security and order necessary for them to implement their own activities with a minimum of thie own expenditure. Why do you think lobbyists exist, anyway? It is to give the wealthy access to public funds and friendly legislation.

A private jet may not be a public benefit, but public taxes still pay for airports and the FAA. If they didn't, few of the rich could afford their toys, or a variety of other benefits that are, in essence, subsidized for them; like the college educations their children require to stay in the hierarchy. Conservatives are always whining about the big bad government but they are masters at manipulating it for their own profit.

The wealthy pay less for their government benefits as a proportion of their income than do the poor, but I have yet to see the rich turn down that social security check when it shows up in their mailbox. And of course, we're not even beginning to talk about "corporate welfare", or any of those other places where public funds provide private contracts, insurance, and a myriad of other benefits disguised as aids to the economy and job programs.
Can you afford expensive waterfront property? Great, the socialists in Washington and Tallahassee will gladly pay for your flood insurance because no underwriting company will.

The core of conservative economics is maintaining the existing wealth redistribution to ensure political gain and accumulation of power. Be honest enough to deal with it. Yeah. I know, the well-to-do are such victims....
