Finally got tired of it and decided to act. I worked 2nd shift in a dead end factory and scraped up enough money to get back into school. Did that for a couple of years, and got into a lab tech position that didn't pay much better. Went back to school, this time vocational, and got into the mechanical engineering field. Been working as a mechanical designer for a couple of years now. I'll probably go back to school to finish up my B.A. in biotech sometime in the next few years.
The opportunities are out there if you want it bad enough. Trouble is most people seem to have an unconscious reflex of shooting themselves in the foot when they get too close to their dreams. It's funny how that is.
