There might be a lot of people who can't figure out how to help themselves, or how to access the sources of care that might be available, but you must realize that the same people who can't figure out Medicaid or other existing providers won't be able to figure out Obama's "public plan" either.
For example, the CBO says there are something like five or six million children who are uninsured, but eligible for either Medicaid or SCHIP. That's not a problem of lack of programs, it's a problem of communication.
