OF COURSE S&D CAN BE MANIPULATED. Yes, by monopolies, Yes by Marketing, Yes yes yes. And YES maximized profits are at market (S&D) equilibrium. Numbers can also be manipulated in a multiplication equation. THINK. It simply changes the outcome, not the fact that S&D exists. THEY ARE CHANGING THE VARIABLES, NOT THE MECHANISM OF S&D.
Karl Marx CLEARLY understood that S&D exists, he just wanted to change the outcome BY MANIPULATING PRICES for labor and products, and manipulating supply by changing ownership of the means of production.
So businesses adjust production and price until profit is maximized. As for those who can’t afford that product at that price, well, they’ll just have to do without. OR, the government steps in and caps the price of insulin or whatever and what then? The law of S&D is invalidated? Of course not! The market simply adjusts to the regulation. Supply would go down because profits for making it go down. So the government orders companies to make it. Some go out of business. Eventually the government makes it. It will still have to pay for the costs of production and recoup those costs by selling it or taxing people to pay for it, which is the same thing.
I'm sorry this concept eludes you. Every one of your points proves it eludes you. But unfortunately, you don't know what you don't know. EVERYTHING, including the natural world, is governed by S&D. Whether it's animals at a water hole or whales eating krill. It is the only immutable law in economics, and IS equivalent to laws of physics.
