Marxism is a system to change outcomes
It is not a rival theory in the sense it is invalidating the concept of free market forces, it is a rival system that changes the outcomes of those market forces through a vast regulatory system to benefit the masses. Again, Karl Marx understood the free market and how it works, and tried to figure out a way to change the results. We are all still doing that today with every business law and regulation we pass.
