It's truly sad that a man who professes to understand economics and claims incessantly that we are becoming a socialist nation doesn't even know what true socialism is. That is when government owns and operates all the means of production. When supply and demand is replaced with government planners attempting to allocate resources. It's when there is no private enterprise and everything is bought in government run stores. Reality check here: look in your home and tell me what percentage of items you own were bought in a government owned and operate store. Don't duck the question.
Laws and regulations governing the free market are not socialism. It is capitalism with rules. Sure there are many examples of far too much regulation, and there are examples of not enough, as the recent financial market crisis illustrates. But as long as there is private enterprise, we are not socialist and never will be.
