Nobody is talking about taking Social Security away from current retirees, or even those planning retirement in the next ten or twenty years. But at some point, we need to start weaning ourselves off the system. The alternative is benefit cuts, crushing taxes, or more likely, simply borrowing and paying benefits with increasingly inflated dollars.
I'm constantly told that my beliefs are "I've got mine, screw you." So where does "I'll get my benefits, screw my grandchildren" come into that?
