Either some of you are incredibly dense, just plain stupid, or you just like using semantics as a weapon to avoid any real issues.
It's getting ridiculous to have to spend five sentences defining a particular political movement or interest group so that supposedly you finally will know exactly who I'm talking about.
If I go to some guy in a hardware store, and tell him the Democrats are trying to kill the tax cuts, he knows exactly who I mean. He knows I'm talking about the Democratic Party, and in particular the leadership of said party. He could probably come up with a list of names, if he wanted to. I don't have to feed him all that to get my point across.
He doesn't come back to me and say, "Well, gosh, my buddy who drives a dump truck is a Democrat, and I think he's for tax cuts. You don't know what you're talking about!"
When I say the anti-war movement is run by anti-American interest groups, most of them with obvious Marxist leanings, a normal person knows I'm talking about the organizers who set these things up, funded them, and arranged to fill the streets with people. A normal person doesn't point to the mom marching with her kid on a tricycle and say "are you calling that mom and her kid communists? You don't know what you're talking about!"
When I say the environmental movement is mostly leftist, a normal person knows exactly what elements of the movement I mean, the politically active NGOs that steer the policy for everyone else and end up making rules the rest of us have to live with, and that I'm not talking about the local Brownie troop who pulled all the old tires out of the creek last week.
Give it a rest already.
God, I'm getting tired of this...
