<"His assertions that Gil Levin found life on Mars has little better scientific merit than any so-called "anomaly-hunter" employs."
Is that right Don??...Let's see if I understand this correctly... The experiment that was designed by Dr. Levin and showed positive for life (along with every other Life Detection experiments on Viking) required no more education, training, and experience to develop than what the MR has used to offer conclusive proof that there are buried cities in Cydonia and we can see them because the Martians left the power turned on before moving off to Mexico...
"As for what it takes to travel to Mars, we simply haven't the technological capacity at the present time to send someone into space for two years and live to tell about it.
I'm sure glad you weren't in charge of NASA in the early 60's. Using your approach, we'd be getting ready for the 2nd sub-orbital Mercury flight...
Hmmm, VonBraun said he could do it by 1980... Now in 2002 (with all the advancements in computers, science, alloys) we suddenly need to spend a lifetime researching it...
As usual Don, You buy into the Government BIG Spending crap. Zurbin pointing out how SEI was a failure because everyone wanted to make sure that their project (Space Station, Moon, etc) was included in the Mars Program (required for the Mars Program)... Looks like you bought it hook, line, and sinker....
