Tell me Al...

...exactly how many manned space missions has Robert Zubrin actually planned, funded, developed, launched and completed?

To be blunt, Al, people who run around playing Mr. Spaceman in in canvas sapcesuits in the frozen desert of Antarctica don't impress me much. People who pretend that's actually serous scientific research impress me even less.

Fact is, the ISS is a done deal, so we might as well use it in ways to help us succeed in a mission to Mars. Fact is, if we can't learn how to live and work permanently in near earth orbit, we will never make it to Mars and back.

As for the moon, we need to go back and develop a permanent facility there. If we can't learn how to do that, we'll never make it to Mars and back.

You have no idea how difficult sending human beings to Mars actually is. Neither does Mr. Zubrin.
