Specifics Please

Many People stayed in 0 g for the length of time needed to reach Mars. Mars has 0.38 g far higher than the Moon and therfore safer from low g effects. How exactly do you expect going to the Moon to help with low g? Do you think we need 2.5 year stays on the ISS to simulate .5 yr at 0 g 1.5 yr at 0.38 g and 0.5 year at 0 g? I think we already are close to knowing what we need to. Exercise and anti-boneloss drugs should be sufficient. I think the MS translife mission will answer Martian low g effect questions far better than the Moon or ISS for far less money.

Radiation protection is a simple matter of shielding. It is unlikely we will have any major breakthrough in this area using the ISS or the Moon. We simply have to minimize the risk through timing or develop faster means of reaching Mars. The ISS and the Moon will not help there. Mars has to be the goal to justify that.

So again what type of specific technology do you see being developed on the ISS or Moon to benefit Martian exploration?

Mark
