Self-proclaimed Marxists still hold positions teaching and administering in our universities and elsewhere. There are many more who adhere to almost every Marxist principle, but don't have the balls to call themselves anything but "progressives."
Whenever I bring this up, someone is certain to pipe up that "Marxism" and "Stalinism" aren't the same thing at all. Bullshit. Every single last nation--there are no exceptions--that has adopted, or attempted to adopt, Marxism as a guiding principle, has ended up as a poverty-stricken, oppressive hellhole that has to shoot people to keep them from fleeing their home nation like mice from a burning barn.
I'm sure that Marxist apologists have many complex and beautiful reasons why their beloved philosophy has "gone wrong" in these cases. Most of them blaming America and capitalism. I frankly don't care to hear them.
Even a congenital idiot will stop sticking a fork into a wall socket after the first time or two. After nearly a century of not just failure after failure, but ghastly and inhuman charnelhouse failure, one would think modern Marxists would finally get a clue.
