Keeping to my original point

Having a little trouble following the thread structure when it gets this extended, but let's not lose sight of my original point that people who teach poisonous or proveably false ideas should not be hired by schools. What I am stipulating is that Marxism is no LESS poisonous than many other philosophies that would NEVER be tolerated in educational institutions, among them being Nazism, or white supremacy. How much the latter two overlap or not is totally irrelevant.

One could also make a similar case that a chemistry teacher should not teach phlogiston theory as true, or geography teachers tell children the Earth is actually flat.

An important clarification:

I am NOT saying that children should not be taught that such ideas exist. There's nothing wrong with teaching what Marx believed, any more than it is wrong to tell kids that people once believed the Earth is flat. But sending them home with the idea that the Earth is still flat crosses the line.

And I am NOT, and never have said, that the government or any other legal authority should be brought into this. People should petition schools and college administrations to fire such people, but at NO POINT should it become a criminal matter or involve government censorship or force applied to schools or colleges. It has been a common technique of many people to cry "censorship" when people squelch their ideas, but Constitutionally such a term applies only to government action.

An issue like this should be a local one, handled by schools and the school's community.

A person in America has a right to even poisonous ideas, but that doesn't mean they have a right to be hired as teachers.
