A. Children are not adults, and attempting to draw any kind of comparison with how adults in a society deal with each other falls flat on that basis.
Yes, but adults are adults. My family had two. Some have more. Some teens take up responsibilities that would otherwise go to adults (as did I). Did you ever watch The Waltons?
B. It is not common to treat dissent in a family by shooting the offender or sending them to prison.
Point being?
C. In a family, the children grow up and are sent out with the family's blessings to become free and independent. This does not often happen to citizens of a Marxist state, unless they sneak out over armed borders.
So...?
I'm not sure you understood me. I stated that American families have some attributes in common with the ideals that Marxism claims (throwing you a bone here to avoid a meaningless arguement) to have. Including collective management of resources, planning for the future of the collective, the support of the weak by the able, etc.
I'm sure others here could add their own objections.
What do you mean by "objection"? Because you can find some ways that families are not Marxist, you reject the thesis that there are any similarities?
I was hoping to develop the thesis along the lines that smaller groups seem to have more success at implementing Marxism. The larger the group the more oppressive they become, etc. Was looking forward to an intellegent and open-minded discussion. I forgot who I was talking to and what forum this is. Silly me.
Obviously we cannot get beyond the very first elementary school parts of this discussion. Sorry I pushed your button.
