Seriously? I thought it was pretty clear: Electoral majorities come and go, as long as the system isn't rigged through corrupt practices like gerrymandering. The Republicans just barely managed to get a majority in Texas in the last election, so common sense would tell you that the odds are good that the pendulum could swing the other way in the next election. Politicians love to portray 51% as a "landslide" signifying a "mandate", but anyone with half a brain knows better.
