re: Run away...run far, far away (and please never return)

If I remember correctly, and I think I do, it was an attempt gerrymandering that would have grossly favoured the GOP. Apparently in their drive to ram this bill home, Republicans also tried to remove the convention regarding a 2/3rds vote. Apparently even Former Lt. Gov. Bill Ratliff (a republican), thought this was going too far. So much so, he quit over it. His replacement, the current Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst scrapped the 2/3rds rule.

I am not a supporter of the Democrats, yet I do support almost any action, particularly something as simple as denying quorum if it combats such a blatant abuse of the system.

The action that the GOP attempted flies in the face of representative democracy, but it is not as if the FPTP system itself isn’t a grand old joke as well. It would seem that you, as a supporter, care little for actual representation and are looking for success by any means available. That’s fine, but lets call that was it is.

Just so you’re clear on what that is, it’s called fascism.

The only thing edifying about this cluster-fuck is how the principles of democracy are regarded by you and those you support. Which is apparently not at all.
